Frequently asked questions
What is unit price?
Unit price is the cost per standard amount — per kilogram, per litre, per 100 g or per item. It lets you compare packs of different sizes fairly: a 250 g pack for 2.49 costs 9.96 per kg, while 1 kg for 7.99 is cheaper per kg.
Can I compare grams with ounces?
Yes. Weights (g, kg, oz, lb) are converted to a common base, as are volumes (ml, L, fl oz). You cannot compare a weight with a volume or with pieces, and the tool will tell you if the units are mixed.
Is the biggest pack always the best deal?
Usually but not always — promotions on small sizes often beat the large pack. That is exactly what this calculator checks. Also consider whether you will use it all before it expires.
Are prices saved?
No. Everything stays in your browser for the current page only. The currency symbol you choose is remembered on your device for convenience.
