How to use JSON to CSV

Frequently asked questions
What JSON can be converted?
An array of objects works best, giving one row per object. A single object becomes one row, and an array of plain values becomes a single “value” column.
How are nested objects and arrays handled?
With flattening on, nested keys become dotted column names such as address.city, and array items get index numbers such as tags.0. With it off, nested data is written into the cell as JSON text.
Why do accented characters look wrong in Excel?
Excel sometimes opens CSV files in a legacy encoding. Tick Add BOM for Excel and the file is marked as UTF-8 so accents and non-Latin text display correctly.
What if objects have different keys?
The columns are the union of all keys in the order they first appear. Missing values are left empty.
