UTM Link Builder
Add UTM parameters to any URL so Google Analytics can show which campaign, source and ad brought each visitor. Formatting is cleaned up for you.
How to build a UTM link
- Enter the destination URL, then the source, medium and campaign name. These three are required.
- Optionally add a term (paid keyword), content (to tell ads or links apart) and a campaign ID. Use Quick picks for common source and medium pairs.
- Copy the tagged URL and use it in your ad, email or social post. Results appear in Google Analytics under Traffic acquisition.

Frequently asked questions
What are UTM parameters?
UTM parameters are tags added to a link’s query string, such as ?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=launch. Analytics tools read them to attribute visits to a specific campaign.
Which UTM parameters are required?
utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign are the core three. utm_term is for paid search keywords, utm_content separates variations of an ad or link, and utm_id links to imported campaign data.
Why lowercase everything?
UTM values are case-sensitive in reports, so “Email” and “email” appear as separate rows. Consistent lowercase with underscores keeps your data clean.
Should I use UTM tags on internal links?
No. Tagging links within your own site starts a new session and overwrites the original traffic source. Use UTMs only on links from outside your site.
