JPG, PNG or WebP — which should I choose?

JPG is the safe choice for photos and works everywhere. PNG is lossless and keeps transparency, ideal for logos and screenshots. WebP gives the smallest files for both photos and graphics and is supported by all modern browsers.

What happens to transparency when converting to JPG?

JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with the background colour you choose (white by default). Convert to PNG or WebP instead to keep transparency.

Can I convert HEIC photos from an iPhone?

Most browsers cannot decode HEIC, so it is not supported here. On an iPhone, set Camera › Formats to Most Compatible, or share the photo as JPG first.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Conversion runs entirely in your browser using the canvas API. Nothing is sent to a server.
