Frequently asked questions

How is the palette calculated?

The image is shrunk and its pixels are grouped into color boxes using the median-cut algorithm. Each box’s average color becomes a palette entry, shown with the share of the image it represents.

Are the colors exact?

Picked colors come straight from the original image pixels. Photos can contain noise, so neighbouring pixels may differ slightly; click a few points to find the shade you want.

Can I use the colors in my design tool?

Yes. Copy the HEX value and paste it into Figma, Photoshop, CSS or any other tool.

Is my image uploaded?

No. The image is analysed in your browser and never leaves your device.
