Frequently asked questions

Can the watermark be removed later?

The watermark is drawn into each page’s content, so it cannot be toggled off in a viewer. Keep your original file if you may need an unmarked copy.

Which characters are supported?

The watermark uses the PDF standard fonts, which support Latin letters, digits and common punctuation. Non-Latin scripts such as Chinese or Cyrillic cannot be drawn.

What is a good opacity?

15–30% keeps text readable underneath while still being clearly visible. Increase it for stronger deterrence.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The watermark is added in your browser with pdf-lib and the file never leaves your device.
